surf's up

On Sunday, 11 of us when to Anglesea Beach to catch some waves. An early morning wake up with breakfast at McD in Geelong. Arriving at the beach to check out the waves we concluded that the waves weren't as good but its better than nothing! Hooray!

So we all got our rented surf boards & wet suits except me. Hahahaha! No regrets but I must say the water was pretty cold. Finding our spot on the beach we headed off to the surf. A number of them had surfed before (like Eng Hui, Nelson) for many of us it was our first or second time on the waves. But all in all we picked up the standard surfing skill relatively easy. Some of us could stand on our boards which I must say is an awesome feeling. Woo hoo!

There was a couple of times I was too far forward on the board & with a decent wave under me. I reckon I did a half pike in the air, that was fun too. Hahahaha! But initially I was freaked, making me figure out now to get that happy median.

All in all I enjoyed my day out at the beach, got to play soccer & watch some of the boys play soccer against 3 Aussies. Some getting a nice tan, others piling on the sun screen like a centimetre thick coming out of it whiter (hahaha), others got 'black' & blue? you know who you are! The point is we had fun . . .

Everybody go surfing . . .
